What is Polygrip you ask ?

Polygrips are fitted to the left and right side of motorcycle so you can lean back on them and leverage your bodyweight onto them.

 The many benefits are

  • Reducing the amount of grip through your hands .

  • Gripping the bike with your legs

  • You will have less arm pump and fatigue .

  • You will have more rear wheel traction, while standing ,and powering through whoops.

  • Your centre of gravity is lower when you are standing (your weight is transferred down to the footpegs ,lowering the COG)

  • You can ride standing up for longer .

  • You can accelerate while standing and not have all the load on your arms.

  • Have better traction ,and can stand up for longer on uphill climbs.

  • Still change your air filter quickly  with no tools !

  • Have a lot more bike stability in sand .

  • Doesn’t damage your boots .

Fitting Instructions

Thankyou for choosing Polygrip

  • Fitting instructions -Correct positioning for you is the most important part of the fitting process

  • Tools required . 6mm drill bit ,drill , 4mm allen key , 10mm spanner ,tape measure,marker pen.

  • The bike should placed on a stable work stand. (you will need to stand on the bike while its on the stand.  Determine left and right Polygrip. Each   Polygrip should be positioned so the top side of the Polygrip is  level with the  the top of your boot ,approx 400mm .See Fig 1

  • Easiest way to determine that is to sit your boot on the footpeg ( see your footpeg contact wear point on the sole of your boot and place it on the footpeg  where the wear marks on the sole are ,this is wear you ride most).See Fig2

  • Mark the side panel  at the top of your boot.

  • See Fig 3 - The polygrip will be 80-120mm from the back side of the footpeg in most cases

  • The purpose of the Polygrip is to spread the load of your bodyweight  along the back of your boot,Not in a localised area or in your calf muscle  .The back of your boot should lean  against the scalloped are of the Polygrip.

  • Locating the Polygrip - Put your boots on ,and stand on the bike in your stand up riding position ,have a 2nd person  hold the Polygrip against the back of your boot and hold it there ,carefully get off the bike and mark the centre hole.

  • Once the height and  forward/backwards position is determined ,Drill the center hole (6mm drill bit required)Fit the Polygip with the centre bolt in place and tighten, repeat standing on the bike with boots on, lean lighty on the Polygrip ,your boots will rotate the Polygrip to suit your leg position(angle of your leg) . Will be close to vertical ,maybe slightly leaning back.Carefully get off the bike and drill the 2 remaining holes. You may need to trim the inner rib on the airbox lid .

  • The Polygrip has 2 usable surfaces , there is an 8mm offset difference between the 2 faces from the bolt centre hole  . This is so you can have 2 positions available to use , one is set back 8mm further than  the other .We recommend using the surface closest to the centre hole first .To use the Polygrip in the 2nd position ,simply take the top and bottom bolts out, leave the centre bolt in and rotate the polygrip 180 degrees. This will set the curved contact area 8mm further forward.

  • Fit 2 more M6x45  Bolts and the panel washers and  nylocks .Tighten all nylocks .4nm(Dont overtighten)
